Bakuchiol: The Botanical Behind Our Evening Ritual

When we set out to build our evening ritual, we wanted a hero ingredient that was gentle enough to use every night yet still delivered visible smoothing. That search led us to bakuchiol — a botanical extracted from the seeds of the babchi plant, Psoralea corylifolia.
What bakuchiol does
In cosmetic formulas, bakuchiol helps the appearance of fine lines, uneven texture and uneven tone, so skin looks smoother and firmer over time. It is also well-loved for how comfortable it feels, which is why many people find they can use it nightly from the start.
How we use it
Night Bloom Bakuchiol Serum pairs 1% bakuchiol with rosehip seed oil and squalane, so it feels silky rather than drying. We also include it in Overnight Recovery Cream, for anyone who prefers a single evening step.
Building it into your evening
- Cleanse — double cleanse if you wore sunscreen or makeup.
- Apply three to four drops of Night Bloom to dry skin, including the neck.
- Seal with your night cream.
Bakuchiol is plant-derived, but it is still an active botanical — patch-test on the inner arm before using it on your face, and give it at least eight weeks of consistent use before you judge the results.
Can I use it with vitamin C?
Yes. We recommend vitamin C in the morning and bakuchiol in the evening, which is exactly how The Signature Ritual and the Evening Ritual Set are designed to work together.
